As President of EnergyIQ, Steve Cooper has assembled a team of professionals, each with at least 15 years of E&P master data management experience. Our team has broad knowledge of the upstream energy business, data domains, and systems used to build and deliver E&P decision support solutions that deliver critical information to the desktop.

Steve Cooper - President

Steve Cooper has 20 years of experience in E&P information management. Dr. Cooper spent 14 years with Petroleum Information and IHS on the energy management side of the business. During this time he held the position of CTO with responsibility for infrastructure, development, and global data accumulation systems. In late 2007, he started EnergyIQ to provide E&P domain and technical expertise to help companies manage their data to meet the needs of the business.

Steve is deeply involved with the PPDM Association, serving as the Chief Communications Officer (CCO). Additionally, Steve serves on the board of directors for Capital Gold Company (TSX:CGC; OTC/BB:CGLD). Steve can also be seen presenting at industry conferences and panels.

Steve holds a Ph.D. and B.Eng in Mining Engineering both from the University of Nottingham in England. He has completed a number of non-credit petroleum engineering courses through the Colorado School of Mines.

Deb Eccles

Deb Eccles brings 23 years of experience in the oil & gas industry to EnergyIQ. She has spent the last 13 years at IHS in a variety of positions. She was on the IHS team to transition IHS’s flat file format database to an Oracle relational database. Responsibilities included data mapping, data loading and software testing. Communication with developers and end users was a critical component of this project to ensure data integrity and a seamless transition for IHS clients accessing IHS well & production data.

For the past 4 years, her position at IHS was a customer support specialist. In this position she provided technical support for IHS’s suite of products. She was a trainer for IHS software, including Enerdeq, Power Tools and PI/Dwights Plus. She provided on-site field support for clients and has worked extensively with oil & gas customers in helping them analyze data and establishing best practices and workflows.

Deb is a member of RMAG and has given presentations at multiple oil & gas venues such as the BLM Colorado Oil & Gas conference, Denver Earth Resources Library, Midland Petroleum Club, etc.

Deb is a graduate of Iowa State University. She is an outdoor enthusiast and loves hiking and biking.

Mike Haden

Mike Haden has over 20-year's experience in Application Development, Project / Product Management, and Global Product Development.

Throughout his career, he has delivered complex data analysis tools to the demanding Canadian oil and gas industry. Mike has experience in bridging the business and technical domains, balancing the communication needs of multiple stake-holders, and aligning project teams to the end-user.

While working in commercial software firms leading development teams that utilize agile project methods, Mike gained valuable experience in delivering application development projects ranging from true R&D through new commercial developments to replacements of “industry-flagship” applications. His current role at EnergyIQ is focused on a new data analysis product for the US oil and gas industry, developing business processes and technology to support distributed product development.

Mike is a Project Management Professional, a Certified ScrumMaster, and a Six Sigma Green Belt. He is presently the VP Communications for the Southern Alberta Chapter of PMI. He dreams of eventually finishing the rejuvenation of a 100-year-old house and having more time for his outdoor pursuits in the mountains near Calgary.

Mike-McCrory

Mike McCrory is a proven leader in the information industry. During his 25 plus years in the industry he led companies to leadership positions by driving product, marketing, and sales excellence.

Mike began his career with Petroleum Information where he held numerous positions in sales, product development, and marketing. Mike led Petroleum Information’s first entry into digital desk top delivery for well and production data.

In the mid-eighties Mike joined Information Handling Services, IHS to lead their global marketing group. Mike and his team drove IHS’s transition from a microform information publisher to a leader in CD-ROM and internet publishing. In addition to managing several IHS core business units Mike was responsible for new market development by both organic and acquisitive investment.

McCrory joined Micromedex, a Thomson company, in the mid-nineties to provide leadership for a newly formed group to extend and develop Micromedex’s traditional healthcare products in the industrial corporate marketplace. His team developed an integrated health, safety, regulatory, and chemical compliance solution for Fortune 100 clients.

In January of 2000 Mike returned to IHS to lead IHS’s Energy information initiatives. As President and COO of IHS Energy Mike acquired and consolidated numerous global energy related companies and established a path for consistent double-digit growth. Mike and his team led IHS’s efforts on numerous acquisitions and helped IHS position itself for their initial successful IPO.

Since leaving IHS, Mike has been providing consulting services to a wide range of information/software companies.

Mike resides with his wife, Beverly, in Denver, Colorado where they enjoy the environment as well as old house restoration. They recently completed the restoration of an 1892 house near downtown Denver that is on the National Historic Register.

Steve Taylor

Steve Taylor joined EnergyIQ in early 2010. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry as a geologist, applications, database and data specialist. He has particular expertise in the application of GIS technology for the management, retrieval and display of E&P spatial data.

Most recently, Steve spent over 10 years with IHS Energy where he was a data specialist providing support to customers of the International E&P database and developing spatial layers for integration with client applications working within the ESRI GIS framework.
